In one paragraph

Yagi is an IPTV player for iPhone, iPad and Mac that plays your own Xtream Codes or M3U playlist the way Apple's own apps would: Live TV, Movies and TV Shows in their own sections, a TV guide with reminders, pause and rewind for live TV, downloads, and iCloud sync across devices. Its Instant Subtitles write and translate subtitles on the device for movies that have none. Yagi collects no data.

At more length

Most IPTV players on Apple devices are built for one screen and stretched onto the others. Yagi is one app made for each of them: a native Mac app with its own windows, keyboard shortcuts and an interface scale from 80% to 200%, an iPhone app with a landscape player and gestures, and an iPad app with the sidebar and guide beside the picture.

Users bring the Xtream Codes login or M3U link from a provider they're entitled to use. Yagi sorts it into Live TV, Movies and TV Shows, shows what's on now and next, sends a notification before a programme starts, and refreshes the playlist by itself once a day. Live TV can be paused and rewound by up to two hours, and if a stream stalls, Yagi reconnects on its own.

Instant Subtitles, new in version 2.3.0, transcribe movies and series as they play, in more than 30 spoken languages, and translate them into more than 20, entirely on the device. Favourites, renamed channels, reminders, subtitle choices and playback positions sync through the user's own iCloud account, so a movie paused on a Mac continues on an iPad at the same second. There's no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.

Yagi was called Spectrum until October 2026.
